1. General Provisions
This Privacy Policy defines the procedure for processing and protecting personal data of users of the Kareta mobile application and website kareta.az (hereinafter — "Service"). The Service is primarily intended for users in Azerbaijan. By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not use the Service.
2. Information Collected
We collect the following types of information: Personal data: name, email address, phone number that you provide when registering and using the Service. Vehicle data: information about vehicles you add to the application (brand, model, year of manufacture, VIN code, photos, price, and other information). Financial records for vehicle operations: expenses, income, and non-payment bookkeeping entries you add for your vehicles. We do not collect bank account numbers or payment card details for payment processing in the Service. Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, application version, data on interaction with the Service. Diagnostic data: when errors occur, we may send error logs to our servers, including app version, device model, and operating system version; for logged-in users, these logs may be associated with your user ID or email for technical support purposes. Photos: images of vehicles that you upload to the application (using the device's camera or photo library).
3. Use of Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes: Providing and improving the functionality of the Service. Processing your requests and providing technical support. Sending notifications about important events and updates. Ensuring security and preventing fraud. Compliance with legal requirements. Analyzing Service usage only to improve the Service and user experience; we do not use third-party analytics. Using diagnostic data (error logs) to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support.
4. Data Storage and Protection
We apply modern data protection methods, including: Data encryption during transmission (HTTPS/SSL). Secure storage of data on protected servers. Restricting access to personal data to authorized employees only. Regular security system updates. Your data is stored on servers located in secure data centers. We do not transfer your personal data to third parties without your consent, except as required by law. Data retention: We retain your account and vehicle data for as long as your account is active and until you request deletion. Diagnostic and error logs are retained for a limited period (for example, up to 12 months). After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time. You can initiate account deletion in-app via Profile -> Delete account. Deletion is scheduled with a 3-day grace period during which you can restore your account via the link sent to your email; after this period, data is permanently removed.
5. Access to Device Data
The application requests the following permissions: Camera: for photographing vehicles directly in the application. Photo library: for selecting and uploading vehicle photos from the device gallery. Notifications: for sending push notifications about important events. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings (Settings > Kareta on iOS). Revoking may limit the application's functionality.
6. Transfer of Data to Third Parties
We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics) or advertising SDKs. We may share data only in the following cases: With infrastructure and hosting providers that help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations. For our own processing and storage of data, including error logs, on our servers. As required by law or by court decision. To protect our rights and user safety. If we engage additional service providers in the future, we will describe them in this policy.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: Receive information about what personal data we store about you. Request correction of inaccurate data. Request deletion of your personal data. A 3-day grace period allows you to restore your account before permanent deletion. 8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. browser storage, local storage) on kareta.az. Types: (1) strictly necessary/technical — session, security, and abuse prevention; (2) functional — remembering language and UI preferences. We do not use third-party advertising pixels or marketing cookies; we do not embed Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or advertising SDKs. We may keep limited server logs and aggregated or anonymized traffic data on our own infrastructure to operate and secure the Service. The Kareta mobile app does not use cookies. You may refuse or delete cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them. Your rights and retention periods are described in dedicated sections of this Policy.
9. Children
Our Service is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes through the application or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are made means you agree to the updated policy.
